The reception, lobby or waiting room of your business is an incredibly important room and shouldn’t be thought of as simply a ‘holding place’ for visitors. Rather it is a marketing opportunity in itself, as well as a place to conceivably either impress or deter visitors or guests from your company. While your visitors wait for you to attend to them they will likely spend a fair deal of time in the lobby or waiting room. At the same time it’s the first room there are likely to see in your office or building. This makes it the first impression they get of your company as well as being an *extended* first impression. Tactical design here can prime their mood and present the best aspects of your business and things like an indoor waterfall, bubble wall or aquarium can make the room and your business by extension, look far more modern and successful. The first thing to consider is the layout of your entrance. Here you will likely want a reception desk, some space (looking as though you can ‘afford’ the space is a good start and obviously preferable to a cramped or very small entrance or waiting area).
