The reception desk should then be well placed so that it is easy to find and can at the same time survey the whole room. Make sure there is a member of staff that you trust and that is well presented permanently at this position. Opposite or adjacent to this position should be the seating area (this should be far enough away to feel ‘private’ while still allowing a view of the reception desk). The entrance to main offices or rooms should be at the end of the room opposite the entrance and usually behind the reception. It’s important to consider the flooring here which can have a big impact on the feel of the room. Here stone flooring is possibly the best option, being easy to clean and maintain while looking spacious, classy, modern and interesting. Use a stone flooring such as granite or marble to make your business look more successful and opt to choose a light colour and subtle grain to make the room appear larger and cleaner. Ensure that this is kept clean (so that you can see your reflection in it) but is dry before visitors enter.
