Commercial waterfalls are excellent ways of creating an attractive space. However, these water features are not very easy to maintain. Nevertheless, if you keep an eye out for some common issues, the waterfall in your store or office does not pose much of a trouble. The most common issue is cloudy or unclean water. Since commercial places experience a lot of visitors and are exposed to dust, water becomes cloudy due to the dissolved particles. Cloudy water ruins the visual appeal of your space because it looks very unclean. In order to avoid this problem, you need to install a high quality water filter and clean the filter regularly. Choose a filter that has backwash mechanism. These are easier to clean. A clean and efficient filter ensures that water in the waterfall does not become cloudy. Another common issue is scaling or white deposits at the bottom of the base pond. You cannot avoid this completely, unless you use only distilled water in the waterfall. Since this is not a practical solution, you need to empty the pond and clean the base regularly in order to avoid deposited salts from crusting. You can install a water softener so that salts are filtered out. Algae formation is a common issue as well. You can use chemical algae killing agents. If you want an eco-friendly solution, grow water lilies or fishes such as goldfish and koi.
